Passport to Safety

A One-Hour Interactive, School Safety Experience for Elementary Students

ABOUT US

A Courageous Voice

A Courageous Voice exists to protect, prevent, and empower. Our mission is to safeguard children from abuse and exploitation by equipping them and the adults in their lives with practical, lifesaving prevention education. We believe children deserve to grow up happy, healthy, and free from harm.

At the heart of our work are the Five Safety Rules - universal, developmentally appropriate principles that help children recognize unsafe situations, identify their safe adults, understand boundaries, and use their voice with confidence. We know children learn best through play, movement, creativity, and repetition. That’s why our programs are interactive, engaging, and designed to build skills, not fear.

Our values are rooted in prevention, partnership, and empowerment. We believe safety education should be proactive, not reactive. We partner with schools and other youth-serving organizations to build a culture where children feel seen, supported, and confident in seeking help. When children know their safe adults, understand the red flags, and believe their voice matters, we strengthen not only individual lives, but entire communities.

Happy, Healthy Kids - Free From Harm

Passport to Safety

Passport to Safety is a high-energy, hands-on, school event where children learn essential safety skills through movement, creativity, and play - all while engaging parents in the process.

In just one hour, students rotate through interactive safety stations, complete meaningful activities, and leave feeling confident, empowered, and connected to their safe adults.

💪Confidence to Use Their Voice

Students learn how to speak up, say “no,” and confidently ask for help when something doesn’t feel right - building courage and self-trust.

🛡️ Real-Life Safety Skills

Children walk away with practical tools to recognize red flags, identify their safe adults, and respond to unsafe situations in age-appropriate ways.

❤️ Stronger Connections at Home

By involving families, students leave with shared language and conversations that strengthen trust and communication beyond the event.

🎨 Learning Through Play

Through hands-on activities, creativity, music, and movement, students retain important safety lessons in a positive, engaging environment

The 5 Safety Rules

These universal rules guide every Passport to Safety experience.

I SEE IT means understanding important information that helps keep you safe - like your personal details, who to contact in an emergency, and recognizing safe vs. unsafe situations.

I SPOT IT are warning signs that something may not be safe, like hurtful words, unsafe touches, or being asked to keep unsafe secrets.

I STEP AWAY means getting away when something feels unsafe -  walking away, running away, or staying away from unsafe people or situations.

I SHARE IT means using your voice to say “No” in unsafe situations and telling a Safe Adult when you need help.

I KNOW IT means if someone ever hurts you, it is never your fault. You are not to blame, and it is always okay to tell a Safe Adult.
